SCNHRB c. 1 has inserted before the final blank leaf: two leaves ([4] p.) from a ms. ink letter in French, apparently incomplete and probably dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, concerning some sort of reimbursement request. The letter has a printed letterhead that appears to read: Moven papier deux sols la Seville [illegible] de Paris

SCNHRB c. 1 has a modern quarter leather binding with linen-covered boards, a gilt-tooled black leather spine label, marbled endpapers, and red sprinkled edges

SCNHRB c. 2 (39088014683122) has stamps: Library, Division of Crustacea; Invertebrate Zoology, Crustacea; also a heraldic stamp on t.p. for James Charles Dale Esquire Sherriff, 1843. Accession no.: 158554. With some ms. ink annotations in the margins. The final blank leaf is wanting
